In January 2020, just as the world was beginning to shut down, I completed a Vipassana retreat at Wat Suan Mokkh. Immersed in silence and surrounded by a lush, contemplative landscape, I experienced a renewed sensitivity to the subtle beauty and harmony of the natural world.

Although electronic devices are normally prohibited, I was granted permission to photograph the surrounding environment during the final days of the retreat. These images—plants, stones, ponds, insects—became my way of extending the meditative practice into a visual form.

During the lockdown that followed, I revisited these photographs and began transforming them into kaleidoscopic compositions. Through a patient, intuitive process, I rearranged and refracted the images until new patterns emerged—forms reminiscent of mandalas, symmetry, and the cyclical rhythms of nature.

These works reflect the essence of what I experienced at Suan Mokkh: serenity, transformation, and the deep interconnectedness of all living things. The vibrant colors and repeating structures echo nature’s inherent order, while inviting viewers into a contemplative state of their own.

This series is both a meditation and a testimony—an attempt to translate the quiet power of mindfulness and the boundless inspiration of the natural world into visual form.
